Using the Dash Media Player within Drupal CMS

You have chosen wisely, my friend... Using Drupal CMS with the Dash Player is by far the most flexible and powerful combination that you will not find elsewhere. The only drawback to this approach is that the setup is a little bit more tedious than using the other approach, but trust me, the payoff is much worth it. Also keep in mind that TMT Digital offers an integration service. If you would like to use Drupal CMS for your Dash Player, and don't feel like reading all these tutorials, then by all means contact us at http://www.tmtdigital.com/contact and we will be more than happy to assist you.

If you are more than willing to learn first hand, then by all means... lets get started.

more control over thumbnail and video conversion

i have one feature request, for this great module!
once i upload a video, i can run cron so that the ffmpeg program runs, and creates a thumbnail, and a video file in flv format. I want the ability to directly upload an flv file so that no conversion takes place, and i also wnat to directly upload my own thumbnail. i know that if i add the word 'NOCONVERT' anywhere in the name of teh video, it will skip conversion for it. But this looks an inconvenience for the user. My current solution is as follows:
i upload a video file with NOCONVERT occuring in the name. i see the name of the uploaded file. (the name the program gives once it is uplaoded may be different from the one that i uploaded it with, depending whether a file with same name existed in the upload directory or not.)
then i upload a thumbnail with the same name as the uploaded flv file, with extension as jpg (the only difference from filename)
i save and run cron
then in my theme, if thumbnail is not found, i look for a file with same name ending with jpg, and show that in place of thumbnail.

but i would want to have the module provide the support to specify thumbnail, and to do the "NOCONVERT" thingy without it occuring in the name, just some other way, may be a checkbox.
